Launch Manager - 18 month FTC
Elmdon Plant
Main missions and results:
- Responsible for all aspects of Launch Programmes, MY changes and Engineering change.
- Represent the Plant in Programme Events where required at the Customer and Internally.
- Ensure that products are designed in line with QMS assumptions and metrics.
- Ensure that adequate programme team support and resources are available on site from tool delivery through to PSW, Job 1, metrics achievement. • Ensure that ELM functional teams are accountable for their deliverables to achieve PSW sign off to Phase 3 on time. Track and review on a weekly basis and report to line manager any gaps or failures.
- Support weekly ECR reviews.
- Always ensure adherence to Artifex HSE Policies and procedures.
- Report Weekly progress, opportunities, threats to Senior Managers.
- Run plant issue tracker and drive to closure (CCAR). • Capture plant off standards and drive to closure.
- In conjunction with Programme teams and Plant Quality support AIMS deck, from Pre- production builds to Production intent to ensure that there are no PSW inhibitors.
- Attend WCPA events (when additional support is required from operations). • In conjunction with the plant quality team, run a WCPA glidepath for the plant during launch phases and track issues to closure (this should include plant and customer audits customer).
- Capture all failure modes during launch and feed back into the PFMEA and control plans.
- Ensure all Control books are in place and updated/maintained during launch and handed over to operations in readiness for Phase 3 PSW run at rates.
- Develop Operator training matrix with Operations Shift Managers Leading Operators and Team leaders during launch phase and ensure operators are trained to correct levels.
- Support Start Up and Wash Up meetings at the Customer as and when required (to be agreed with Senior Managers and Programme Team).
- Run Launch readiness Reviews in plant and lead the team in closure of open issues.
- Update and populate Prolink with the required LRR documentation and plant overview.
Preferred skills and experience:
- Launch Management experience within an Automotive manufacturer.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate a diverse team.
- An understanding of new product introduction from all perspectives.
- An understanding of lean manufacturing principles. • An understanding of modern problem-solving techniques.
- An understanding of EAPQP.
- A good knowledge on ECAR submissions.
- A good knowledge and understanding of the 18 Elements of PPAP (IATF).
- Experience in the Automotive industry.
- Strong communication skills.
- Customer relationship experience.
- Understanding of IATF 16949/ ISO 9001 quality standards.
